8U Softball is geared toward girls age 7-8.  Girls age 6 with good skills, or who have successfully completed Intro Softball should consider 8U Softball.  8U Softball is a "Machine Pitch with Tee Backup" format, played without walks or Strikeouts; every Batter will hit the ball, every at-bat. This also gives the kids in the field an opportunity to make a play on every batter, leading to strong development of defensive skills and game IQ.

Girls age 9 and older play Fastpitch Softball.

8U Softball focuses on learning the game of softball and building on fundamental skills to facilitate the transition to 10U Fastpitch Softball.

Practice usually begins in April.  League play should begin in early May.  Games are played one or two nights/week (usually Monday and Wednesday) starting at 6:00pm.  Home games in St. Anthony are played at Silver Point Park.  Away games are played in nearby communities.
